Frequently Asked Questions

How does Armor Mist work?

Armor Mist uses a revolutionary "mechanical" kill technology. The Armor Mist formulation contains a positively charged polymer which forms a bond with the surface of your skin.

You could think of this bond as a layer of "spikes" that attracts harmful microbes and draws them in. The spikes puncture the microbe's outer cell membrane, causing it to destabilize and die.

Since nothing is transferred to the (now dead) microbe in the killing process, the anti-microbial properties of Armor Mist have not lost their strength and the spikes are ready for the next microbe they encounter.

Does Armor Mist really provide all-day germ protection?

Yes. One application of Armor Mist has a kill rate of over 99% within 60 seconds of application and keeps you protected from morning until night.

Armor Mist does not lose its efficacy when hands are washed, (up to 10 hand washings) but should always be used in conjunction with an appropriate hand washing regimen.

In contrast, once an alcohol-based sanitizer has evaporated, it's killing power is gone.

Will Armor Mist dry my hands like alcohol-based sanitizers?

No. Armor Mist provides a protective 12-hour barrier without alcohol to avoid drying out the skin.

What types of germs does Armor Mist kill?

Armor Mist mechanically kills a variety of pathogens such as bacteria, fungi, and viruses such as: MRSA, H1N1, VRE, C.dIFF, and more.

Do germs develop a resistance to Armor Mist?

No. The barrier in Armor Mist has nano-spikes which ruptures a pathogen's membrane. This does not allow for mutation.

In contrast, alcohol-based sanitizers utilize a chemical kill by essentially poisoning microbes. This can actually encourage mutation and resistance formation.

Is Armor Mist more effective than traditional hand sanitizers?

Yes. Armor Mist has demonstrated a higher instant kill rate on bacteria than alcohol-based sanitizers.

The recommendation of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) is that recurrent use of alcohol-based gel hand sanitizers is not effective without adequate hand washing between uses due to the fact that gels can trap dirt and potentially pathogenic organisms on the skin. Effectiveness decreases with added use and alcohol-based products are ineffective after the third use without hand washing. Alcohol gels do not work well in the presence of dirt or grease.

How often should I apply Armor Mist?

Armor Mist can safely be used as often as you like. Each additional application adds to the coverage areas that may have been missed in previous applications. Fun fact: one thorough application of Armor Mist provides the same daily protection as an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that is applied every 60 seconds.

Will Armor Mist save me money?

Armor Mist does not require constant re-application, which means that significantly less product is used on a daily basis making it more cost-effective.

How quickly does Armor Mist start working?

Armor Mist begins working instantly to kill harmful germs as soon as it is applied. A protective and moisturizing barrier is formed on the skin that is only diminished through skin sloughing. Armor Mist is effective through 12 hours, or 10 regular hand washings.

Does Armor Mist contain alcohol?

No.

Is Armor Mist hand sanitizer flammable?

No, Armor Mist is not flammable because it contains no alcohol.

What does the protective barrier from Armor Mist feel like?

Armor Mist leaves no sticky residue or strong alcohol fragrance on your hands.

How can I best use Armor Mist to protect myself?

Hand hygiene is recognized as the single most important means of preventing the spread of germs. Armor Mist kills 99.9% of the most common germs that may cause illness. Armor Mist is a great way to protect your hands between hand washings.

Will Armor Mist stain my clothing or other surfaces?

No. Armor Mist does not stain clothing, floors, carpets, or other surfaces.

Is Armor Mist safe for everyone?

Yes. Once dried and bonded on skin, Armor Mist is non-toxic and non-irritating. Dermatologist tested and approved. Do not use on mucous membranes (inside eyes, nose, mouth, etc).

How do I properly apply Armor Mist?

Spray 2-3 pumps of product into palm and work thoroughly into hands as it dries. No water or rinsing is necessary. Do not use on mucous membranes (inside eyes, nose, mouth, etc).
